A job is called your "livelihood", i.e. "noun. a means of supporting one's existence, especially financially or vocationally; ..." It's the main reason people work! On many jobs, coworkers, and supervisors are not supportive. It's not that they misunderstand your specific needs. It's that they don't care! You see ... everyone at any job is looking out for Number One, i.e. themselves ... FIRST. That's the crude reality of the workplace.

So! If you have to seek a new job, then do so. Hopefully, you can find one that fosters an inclusive and supportive culture. But don't be surprised if it's hard to find jobs that have that kind of environment.

Not trying to bring politics into the situation but, I know of 2 governors that have done their best to disallow DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) in the workplace, saying it's unfair or ... giving some trifling reason or excuse like that. "DEI" can have a very broad definition.

I don't want to ramble on about this. Whether you have a disability or handicap or whatever, you should expect those who work with you NOT to understand, not to even try to understand, and not to empathize or sympathize. If you find a job where people are like that ... you got lucky!

Sorry for being so cynical. These are comments based on my observations and experiences.
