AI was never intended to REPLACE humans. AI is a TOOL intended to HELP humans. I do not believe the designers or developers want to play God and give an AI bot or tool all of the attributes of a human. Especially, not human emotions.

That being said, I am a little upset right now because AI chatbots are being accused of driving people to commit suicide.

I don't think the accusations are valid. But that's not stopping people from making the accusations anyway.

If a person was chatting with an AI because they were having emotional problems and mental health difficulties … they should NOT have been chatting with an AI! They or those around them who could help them, should have sought PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE.

If the person committed because an AI bot told them to … that person was likely already standing at the edge of the cliff and contemplating the act. They wanted someone or some “thing" to tell them to DO IT!

However, in defense of the accuser, AI should never have been programmed to call somebody A LOSER WHO SHOULD JUST DIE!! An AI chatbot is NOT the character Harvey Dent aka Two-Face in a Batman movie!

Just my opinion.
