Don't sell your kids short. They understand PRORITIES. You teach them that when they ask you to do one thing and you tell them you can't right now. They also know how to sympathize and empathize.

You didn't say: “Get lost kid! Ya bothering me!” Because then the child would understand that they're being REJECTED because they're NOT important to you. In other words, they are not YOUR PRIORITY.

By the way, I always wanted to be able to work from home when my kids were growing up, but I never had the opportunity. Whether work is at home or out of the home ... as long as the kids KNOW they are loved and they CAN come to you, that's what matters.
