I grew up in Miami, Florida but my dad was from The Bahamas. So I was already familiar with Bahamian cuisine,

But then Cubans fleeing Fidel Castro started to populate Miami and brought their recipes with them. Cuban food is awesome!

Then the Haitian community started growing in Miami and they have good food too!

Now I live in Texas and there is the Tex-Mex cuisine. That's good too!
