I was always told that the idea behind writing about historical events were so that we would not repeat the mistakes made by those who came before us. Yet how many wars have been written about and how many wars are still going on to this day? I guess the readers think that war is fine, It's just that the warring folks before us evidently didn't know how to do war the right way! This time, since we've learned from their mistakes, we'll do it right! Perhaps that's what they hope.

As for women being underrepresented in historical records? There are so many people who are not represented in history. Or should I say … there are records of their deeds, It's just that they were not deemed important enough to be included in the school's “approved” and “official” educational curriculum. Thank goodness teachers at least teach kids how to read. Kids who want to know can dig the information out of the available records and learn on their own.
