I watched a TV report on people who had won the lottery. There were several employees who bought the winning ticket. The winners were revisited after several years to see what they had done with the money.
Would you believe it? The majority of them were as broke as they were BEFORE they won. With the exception of one guy. I remembered him because he did what I would have done. He bought a home and used most of the money to put his kids through college. You can imagine his life was just fine. Mainly because his kids were so grateful that they made sure to take good care of him.
So I'm thinking … it's not winning the lottery that ruins people's lives. It seems a lot of people just don't know how to handle instant wealth!
