I'm guessing you could say that quote about success is The Big Lie. (Or at least one of the big lies, cause there are lots of things we are told we must do that we might really have to push ourselves to do.)
I could be wrong because I don't really keep up with the K-Pop industry, but as far as the mental health of the K-Pop entertainers, they are not the only ones suffering. Several months ago the news was buzzing about athletes who were having mental health problems. When people become successful in any high-profile career and fans start turning them into idols, nobody cares about them personally. People just want to be entertained. The pressure is on them and nobody seems to be willing to have some compassion and consideration for the individual. Although it is sad, it's no surprise when some resort to suicide. That should never happen! But it's a cruel and ugly world.
