It's not a lesson I drew from the story. This was advice my mother gave me years ago about using certain words. She told me to avoid using words like “hate”, and “swear”. She said those were very powerful words and I might regret uttering them later. So when I saw the title to your article I thought to myself … if that person “swore” they probably regretted it later.

I agree with your concluding thought: “... keep your hearts full of kindness and let it shine brightly for all to see.”
