So? By contrast, do matriarchal societies undervalue men? Curious.

For every person that exist or existed who made major contributions, a woman brought them into this world. With the exception of those mothers (biological or non-biological) who did not have “natural affection” and did not take care when nurturing their children, by default those mothers get AND deserve the praise too.

Not discounting or ignoring the role of the fathers, but there's a reason why people often say: “The hands that rock the cradle rule the world.”

Though some may try, it is really hard to undervalue women. The fact is that no matter what time period or form of government, family structure, etc. … some people are JUST PLAIN IGNORANT! Sadly, those people have held or hold positions in a society where they get to make and enforce DUMB RULES!!
