So whose side was God on?

I am reminded of a sermon that I heard many years ago. The preacher's lesson was on faithfulness and making the right choice. You will recall that the Apostle Paul wrote that even if it's an angel who comes to you with a “different gospel”, don't listen! In his sermon, the preacher referred to an incident in the Old Testament where Joshua saw an angel and he asked him: “Are you for us or are you for the enemy?” The angel reply was: “Neither. I'm here as the captain of the Lord's host.”

The question is not “Whose side was God on?”

~ The question is “Are you on the Lord's side?”

MY ANSWER: I make every effort to be on God's side.
