TECH NEWS OCTOBER 28, 2022: Musk and Dorsey ~ 2 Major Milestones
These are major milestones in the tech industry, so it’s best to save as historical markers in the tech business world.
Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey are both in the tech news on the same day! Who can predict where these giants will go from here? Will they remain giants or become dwarfs? We don’t have any prophets so we just have to wait and see.
MILESTONE 1
: Elon Musk, with the help of Binance, is now in charge of Twitter. He already fired the top executives who know the details of the purchase AND users are already threatening to leave if he allows Trump to come back.
“Tesla CEO Elon Musk has completed his takeover of Twitter, with the help of a $500 million investment from crypto exchange Binance. Musk claimed that his motivation for buying the company is to preserve a “common digital town square.” Meanwhile, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s work to develop Bluesky, a decentralized social media protocol, continues apace.” (per Decrypt.com)

- Would I leave if Trump come back? Heck no! My Twitter was not set up for politics. I use my accounts to create income streams. Every now and then I might express an opinion about a political issue. I was on Twitter BEFORE Trump. I was on Twitter DURING the Trump-tweets-storrn. I was on Twitter after Dorsey banned Trump from Twitter FOREVER! I have no intentions of leaving Twitter just because Musk allows Trump to come back.
MILESTONE 2
: Jack Dorsey, the guy who used to own Twitter, is building a new social app calle BlueSky.
- I signed up to participate in the Beta testing phase. Eh! Why not? I participated in the Google Plus testing phase. It was supposed to compete with Facebook. That did not happen. It’s too bad G+ was not successful. For the record, I enjoyed it while it lasted. But maybe the BlueSky app will even better than Twitter. Who knows?
