The news says DOJ is winding down Trump cases. Some nonsense about not putting a “sitting President” on trial. (Some US laws are STUPID!) Anyway! The knowledge that the cases can't or won't be tried while he is in office AND the hope that even if he gets convicted for other stuff, the judge won't likely make him serve any prison time … probably has Trump on Cloud 9.
However, knowing the kind of people that Trump surrounds himself with … blind loyalists who serve him and not the country (they have their reasons why) … no law that says DOJ can't go after them for HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS, etc. If his “Team” thinks that serving Trump is an automatic “get out of jail free” card then …
There is also no law that says DOJ can't go after members in the Senate or the House of Representatives or governors or mayors or sheriffs, etc.
My brother once said that Hitler was able to do the things history gives him credit for because there were those around him who willingly did his bidding AND others who were too scared to do anything to stop him.
So for me, the real question is:
* Is the entire United States of America populated with blind Trump loyalists AND/OR a bunch of people too frightened to stand up and fight for liberty and justice for all?
If that's our “present distress”, then …
* I hope and pray God will deliver US from evil, even if we don't have the courage to fight for ourselves.
Even Trump can't trump God.
