With any technology that is developed, there should always be a legal framework established to hold the developers, the end users, and other involved parties, accountable if they use it to commit crimes.
Technology has always been invented to "help" humans. It should make our lives easier. It shouldn't make it easy or easier for us to commit crimes.
Technology may change, but humans pretty much stay the same; including humans from civilizations that predate us. Many human beings often appeal to their base lustful desires. As such, the crimes likely to be committed are basically the same. In The End, unscrupulous people use the technology to rob, cheat, steal, defraud, and possibly even commit murder. Criminals would like to be able to point the finger of blame at the technology. But AI or (artificial intelligence) doesn't really THINK or LUST! However, there's a human operating that technology who does.
We already have laws in place for these criminal acts. So we just need to “tweak” the laws to incorporate punishment for crimes committed using AI. Because whatever criminal acts that occur through the use of technology will likely occur for the same reason people always commit crimes. To borrow words from Hannibal the Cannibal. “They covet.”
(Yeah. I know. I watch too much television. LOL.)
