You might find my comments offensive, but I respectfully disagree. This is not intended as an insult to wonderful mothers. But a good mother knows her place in the Divine circle of life.

It is true that nothing can replace a mother's love. But I don't believe God intended for a mother to be a man's greatest love. Based on my study of the scriptures, I believe that specific place of honor is for the man's wife, his lifelong soulmate.

God didn't make a mother for Adam. He made him a wife.

The first loving human relationship in humanity was between a man and his wife. Not a mother and her son.

A man who enters into a marriage putting his wife in a lower place of honor will likely not have a happy marriage. Men who always put their mother before their wife are what we call a “momma's boy” A momma's boy never makes a good husband.

The same goes for fathers. If a wife keeps running back to her daddy, she should have never gotten married.

If a man marries a woman and later finds out that she's just a gold-digger, then it's clear she never meant to be a good wife in the first place. “A good wife is from the Lord”. (Proverbs 19:14)
